This is a 19th Century ( c 1830) Hepplewhite style ebonised spider web back chair with painted English rose details. The chair has beautiful lines enhanced by the ebony effect and the gilt detail that runs throughout the chair thus adding an elegant accent to this gorgeous piece of furniture. The spider web detail of the back is punctuated by English rose that are replicated - carved and painted, in key places again to enhance the beauty of the chair.
The robust and firm frame is matched by the upholstery in an elegant blue velvet fabric in very good condition.
The chair has square tapering legs terminating in spade feet.
The chair is in very good antique condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing
