This is one of two antique 19th Century water colours depicting boats at the fishing village in Holland. The wind mills towering against the misty sky overlooking the tranquil village life. In the foreground a barge carrying a large cargo and houses brighten the scene with their striking and well defined colours, whilst in the distance the mist envelopes the land . As the sun set in the distance the clouds breaks up giving away to the blue sky. I can describe the details of the painting as superb especially the colours and lines. This is highly evocative snap shot of a Dutch village
This is one of two paintings by the same artist depicting a fishing village scene.
The water colours are presented with their original wooden and gilt frames which have some damage such as scratches, scuffs and damage to the frame corner. There are also some signs of water damage.
