This is a fine quality pair of early Victorian (c 1840) mahogany hall chairs. The chairs have a beautiful and important carved back in the shape of a shell supported by C scrolls with solid seat raised on front turned tulip legs.
Made of solid mahogany the chairs are a fine example in the style of the famous furniture maker Gillows whose design was a firm favourite.
The chairs have a beautiful patina (colour) , are made available un restored therefore retaining their original charm. One of the chairs has had the back leg repaired and has two small faded marks on the seat. Please check the photographs for more details or contact us.
