This is a gorgeous Victorian (c 1840) walnut tub chair on castors. The open armchair has its original upholstery with carved scroll ended arms over barley twist supports. The front of the seat is in the serpentine shape and the chair stands firmly on barley twist legs and white ceramic castors stamped “Cope and Collison”.
This is a rare classic piece of antique furniture presented in all its authenticity including the traditional fabric which shows signs of age and use. The strong frame -all in walnut, is in very good condition. The wood has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing .
