This is the remarkable work by award winning Australian artist Brian Stratton, titled Sand and Rock Shadows, Vincentia. Stratton who has always been passionate about watercolour is famous for painting rocks, shingle and driftwood which he does in such mastery way.
Born in Sydney in 1936, Brian Stratton studied at the National Art School, Sydney. A painter and teacher of Art at the NSW Dept of Technical Education. He is a foundation member of the Ryde Art Society and has exhibited widely throughout Australia and has won numerous awards. He is represented in several state collections.
