This painting is by Anne Paterson Wallace born on 17th August 1923 in Montrose, Scotland. Anne Paterson Wallace is a member of the distinguished Paterson family of artist being the grand-daughter of James Paterson (1854-1932) R.S.A., P.R.S.W, R.W.S.  Anne studied at Perth Academy . Awarded a grant to study at Chelsea School of Art in 1946-49, her teachers included Ceri Richards and Robert Medley. 
She had a number of solo exhibitions in East Anglia, where she subsequently settled. She founded the Woodbridge Art Gallery ( now the Deben Gallery) but relinquished this in 1969 in order to devote more time to painting. She was a member of Free Painters and Sculptors in Ipswich and Woodbridge Art Club. In 1977 she organised an exhibition of “ Family Paterson of Painters” held at Belgrave Gallery, London and Fine Art Society in Edinburgh.
The “Cloud Shadows” is a beautifully executed watercolour with rich colours and high details giving this work a timeless quality.
The painting is framed in an elegant and contemporary wooden frame and glazed.
The painting is in excellent condition.
