This is a large stunning marine painting by renown English painter Frederick James Aldridge (1848-1933) "Sailing into Port" depicts a sailing ship in stormy sea with a paddle steamer tug and other ships nearby. Incredibly atmospheric with all the drama that Aldridge was famous for.
The watercolour is framed in its original Victorian carved wooden frame and glazed in its original 19th C glass.
The work is signed lower right
Condition Very good condition for its age. The glaze is cracked on the bottom, left corner.
