This is a very attractive rustic mid 18th Century well proportioned Georgian (c 1750) oak chest with two small and three large graduated drawers. The drawers are furnished with brass key holes, swan neck brass handles and locks. Please note two of the brass keyholes are missing and the lock is missing from the first long drawer.
The oak of the chest has a lovely warm colour and is in overall good condition considering it is some 260 years old!
It stands on bracket feet.
It has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
The chest can split into two parts so that it can be moved with ease on narrow stairs.
I can describe this piece as a lovely, rustic quality Georgian antique furniture with a great deal of character.
