An outstanding and very elegant oil on canvas from Jean Jannel one of the most charismatic and talented painters of the 1930s. Born in Paris in 1894 Jannel specialised in tasteful female nudes. 

He exhibited at Paris “ Salon Des Artistes” and “Salon Des Independants”. He was the pupil of the very famous Luc Olivier Merson. Jannel is listed in the excellent book “Figurative Paintings: Paris and the Modern Spirit” by Martin Wolpert and Jeffrey Winter.
