This is a charming and very picturesque 19th Century Scottish School watercolour depicting a beautiful scene by a loch with sailing boats, a steamer in the long distance and a woman and a child walking toward a woodland.
The mountains in the background, the immensity of the glorious sky and the lushness of nature in summer provide the perfect frame for this beautiful and poetic painting.
I can describe the details of the painting stunning and evocative.
The work is presented in its original frame created by Hinkins & Beeles est 1843 of Manchester.
The watercolour is signed.
The watercolour is in very good condition; there is a crease on the top left and the mount has a crease on the right close to the frame. The frame is original and the ebonised and guilt effects have faded in places.
