This delightful antique Georgian 19th century flame mahogany table is a very attractive and well proportioned essential piece of furniture. Its rectangular top has two leaves with a simple flat edge and rounded corners. Below the top is one long drawer with flamed mahogany veneers to the front and cock beading all around. At the opposite end is a dummy drawer. The table stands on a facetted octagonal stem and quadripartite base with square feet with concealed original swivel castors.
The mahogany of the table is of a beautiful eye catching warm colour. It retains its original patina and is in very good condition considering it is some 200 years old!
I can describe this piece as a charming, high quality Regency antique furniture with a great deal of character.
Condition report: The table dates back to circa 1815 and is some 200 years old! The table shows original building material and construction methods. However, as with antiques there are signs of small dents and fine scratches to the top and leaves. One of the leaves has an old repair as you can see from the photographs. The cock bidding of the drawer shows some small dents. All of the above are a testimony of the age and use of this very fine old piece of antique furniture which is full of character. Please review carefully the photographs to see the items listed here.
