A matched set of four hand-carved, 19th century (c 1880) mahogany dining/ hall side chairs influenced by the style of Chippendale.

The chairs show a beautiful frame with a shaped chiselled top rail with well carved details and the pierced centre splat with decorative scrolls.

The drop in seats rest inside the very unusual shaped front rails.

The front legs with wonderful leaf and foliage carved knees, terminating with claw and ball feet.

The drop in seats are in a ruby red velvet and are in very good condition.

The four chairs are in very good condition; extremely sturdy and well preserved with some signs of wear to the finish appropriate for their age.

Very good quality mahogany used in the making of this fine set of dining chairs and the condition is excellent. One of the seats has a very light water like mark mentioned here for accuracy.
