This is a lovely pair of Victorian mahogany hall or bedroom chairs with a very attractive double urn shaped back and serpentine reeded front. The chairs are raised on beautiful turned and fluted legs on - double wheels castors. The frame of the chairs is sturdy and firm with the upholstery of the chairs in heavy weight natural, light cream, oatmeal fabric contrasting perfectly with the beautifully aged mahogany. The upholstery of the seats is in good condition.
The chairs have been just been cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing to ensure their retain the historical patina and are ready to be used.
Condition report: The chairs are in general good antique condition with some historical knock, scratches and small dents especially along the legs. There are some darker wood marks consistent with the age and aging of the wood. There are some historical repairs to the back of the chairs but these have been professionally addressed and all joints have no movement. One of the chairs has had the frame of the seat at the back repaired toward the leg and this can be seen in the photographs and mentioned here for accuracy. Again , there is no join movement. We also noted that the back of one of the chairs is slightly higher suggesting an historical repair. All of the above are a testimony of the age and use of this very lovely set of chairs which are full of character. Please review carefully the photographs to see the items listed here.
