This is a handsome Victorian (c 1870) mahogany buffet,  dumb waiter with three galleried tiers. The tiers are all made of one solid piece of figured mahogany which has aged beautifully and has mellowed in a rich honey colour. The buffet has lovely turned supports in period style with turned globe finials to the top. The buffet stands firmly on cupped castors.

It retains its original finish which has been cleaned and waxed polished. The buffet is sturdy and free from damage or woodworm.

Condition report: The three tier buffet is a piece of antique which is over 100 years old. The top tier shelf shows some marks through the polish; some are ring marks where items have been placed. The other marks are consistent with the age of the buffet and the marks are related to the aging wood. There are also some scratches again due to the use of the top shelf. The second shelf down shows a slight wear on the polish. The shelves show marks through the polish which are related to the aging of the wood. The back of the bottom shelf has a small split in the wood and the wheel of the castor is chipped. One of the castors is in black instead of brown.
